An eye exam begins with a patient, medical, and ocular history. This information is gathered by our technicians. This information is of the utmost importance for our doctors so accurate diagnoses, and risk assessments can be made. Visual acuity, ocular alignment, peripheral vision, and eye tracking measurements will evaluated. Our comprehensive eye examination also includes a thorough evalution of eye health. Intraocular pressures are measured to screen for glaucoma. A dilated retinal exam provides an excellent view of the internal structures of the human eye including the optic nerves, retinal blood vessels, macula and peripheral retina. Slit-lamp biomicroscopy allows our doctors to assess the health of the external strucutures of the eye making for accurate diagnosis of eye injury and infection. Our doctors fit all types of contact lenses depending on the vision needs of the patient. We routinely fit disposable lenses, astigmatism correction lenses, and bifocal contact lenses. We fit rigid gas permeable lenses for patients with higher amounts of astigmatism including patients with keratoconus and those who have undergone cornea transplantation.
Ocular emergencies and eye infections are handled daily in our office. From ocular allergies and conjunctivitis to embedded foriegn bodies, our doctors are experienced and well-equipped to provide the care you need.
